John Erdek concentrates his practice in business-related areas including commercial business transactions, real estate transactions (residential and commercial), landlord/tenant matters, business organizations and contract matters. Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Erdek served as in-house counsel to GMAC Mortgage Corporation and GMAC Bank. While there, he provided counsel relating to GMAC's extensive real estate portfolio, construction lending programs, sourcing/procurement groups and commercial lending program, which involved resolving environmental, title, zoning and access/easement issues, among others.

Before joining GMAC, Mr. Erdek was a member of Ernst & Young LLP's Real Estate and Construction Advisory Services practice where he provided services concerning construction operations, commercial leasing, public/private development and transactional real estate advisory assistance. His work with E&Y included extensive on-site international due diligence, financial modeling, drafting expert reports and opinions and forensic policy and procedure evaluations, as well as compiling several multi-hundred million dollar construction litigation claims.

As in-house counsel, Mr. Erdek also represented Glaxo SmithKline/Quest Diagnostics Clinical Laboratories in its real estate matters. In addition, immediately after graduating from law school, he was employed by Widener University School of Law as an adjunct law professor in the school's Academic Support Program. During law school, Mr. Erdek served as a law clerk to the Honorable Richard A. Lewis of the Dauphin County Court of Common Pleas in Harrisburg, PA.

Mr. Erdek received his Bachelor of Arts degree in political science from West Chester University of Pennsylvania and received his law degree cum laude from Widener University School of Law. He was admitted to the bars of Pennsylvania and New Jersey in 1997.
