Mr. McKenna concentrates his practice in the areas of municipal law, land use, zoning, real estate, tax assessment appeals and business litigation. Mr. McKenna represents numerous municipalities and zoning hearing boards in Chester County, as well as private land owners and developers in subdivision, land development and zoning matters. Mr. McKenna also has extensive experience in all aspects of business litigation, including defending claims brought by Transport International Pool, Inc. (TIP) and Court Square Leasing.

Mr. McKenna received his Bachelor of Arts degree in history from Saint Joseph's University, where he was a member of Phi Alpha Theta History Honor Society. Mr. McKenna received his law degree, cum laude, from Widener University School of Law, where he was a Josiah Oliver Wolcott Fellow, serving as a law clerk to Delaware Supreme Court Justice Joseph T. Walsh. While at Widener Law, Mr. McKenna also served as an Executive Board Member of the Moe Levine Trial Advocacy Honor Society, an Academic Fellow, and achieved Dean's Honors List recognition.

Prior to joining Gawthrop, Mr. McKenna served as the law clerk to the Hon. Anthony A. Sarcione, judge of the Court of Common Pleas of Chester County, and as an associate attorney in a regional insurance defense firm. Mr. McKenna currently sits on the Board of Directors of Safe Harbor of Greater West Chester as its Secretary, as well as the Board of Directors of the Chester County Bar Association. In addition, Mr. McKenna is the President-Elect and Program Director for the Hon. John E. Stively, Jr. American Inn of Court and an Assistant Editor to the Chester County Legal Reporter. In 2007 and 2008, Mr. McKenna was selected as a "Pennsylvania Rising Star" by Philadelphia Magazine and Law and Politics Magazine.
