Leonard R. Olsen, Jr. concentrates his practice in wills, trusts, and other estate planning instruments, and advises clients on commercial transactions and income tax matters.

Mr. Olsen received a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from Rutgers University and graduated cum laude from Rutgers University School of Law, where he was an editor of the Law Review.

Mr. Olsen received his LL.M. in Taxation from New York University and also holds a Certificate in Estate Planning from the Graduate Tax Division of Villanova University School of Law.

Prior to joining Gawthrop Greenwood, Mr. Olsen was General Counsel of XL Environmental and its predecessor, ECS, Inc. He was also Executive Vice President of International Operations for ECS.

Prior to ECS, Mr. Olsen was in private practice in New York and Philadelphia. He began his legal career with Simpson Thatcher & Bartlett, LLP and later was a partner at Battle Fowler, LLP, both in New York City. More recently, Mr. Olsen was a partner at Blank Rome, LLP in Philadelphia.

A member of the Chester County Estate Planning Council, Olsen belongs to several bar associations, including the American Bar Association and Chester County Bar Association. He is also a Trustee of the Chester Springs Library and is currently President of this organization. Mr. Olsen formerly served on the Board of Trustees of the Philadelphia Outward Bound Center. Born in Philadelphia and raised in southern New Jersey, Olsen lives in Chester Springs, PA.
